The Polan soybean variety is a development of the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute (IHAR) in Poland. In scientific literature, it is most often cited as a model for conducting comparative agrotechnical trials, including the assessment of the influence of sowing density, soil tillage methods, and the application of various types of fertilizers.
In studies devoted to the physical properties of seeds, it is noted that the variety possesses specific characteristics of seed coat strength. The optimal moisture level for seeds to reduce their mechanical damage during threshing is 18.5%. The variety has also been used in experiments studying resistance to stress factors and the influence of thermal treatment on sowing qualities.
