The variety was obtained by crossing Coker 310 and Coker 8103 lines. In scientific practice, it has gained recognition for its high productivity and fiber quality, often serving as a control in comparative trials of new varieties and transgenic lines.

Due to its good adaptability to laboratory cultivation conditions, this variety became the basis for developing cotton lines possessing resistance to insects and herbicides. Currently, the variety is not used in commercial production.
