The DP 2156 variety belongs to the category of cotton designed for harvesting by stripper-type cotton pickers. The plant is characterized as very early-maturing, while data on its morphological characteristics are practically absent in open publications.
Under production conditions, the variety was used for cotton fiber production. In breeding work, DP 2156 was used as a parent line, in particular for the development of the DP 491 variety, as well as in breeding programs for crossing with the Chirpan-539 variety.
