The variety Kris was obtained by breeders in Bulgaria as a result of intraspecific hybridization. In scientific studies devoted to the evaluation of the phenotypic stability of cotton, the variety appears in the list of studied objects.

In agronomic trials, the variety is characterized as unstable in terms of yield indicators, but at the same time it possesses a high rating of breeding value (YSi). Information on the maturity group, plant height parameters, and specific resistance to diseases is absent.
