The variety Vered and line Vered 171 are mentioned in scientific publications as subjects of breeding trials conducted primarily in Israel. Information about this variety is limited, and complete descriptions of morphological traits in the public domain are insufficient.

During studies, the variety demonstrated seed quality indicators, specifically the presence of seed linter. An assessment of its resistance to the pathogen Verticillium dahliae, which causes Verticillium wilt of cotton, was also conducted. The purpose of the variety corresponds to the general purpose for this species — the production of cotton fiber.
