The Coker 310 variety (abbreviated as C-310) is recognized by international agronomic organizations as a standard for conducting tests for distinctness, uniformity, and stability. It is characterized by the presence of nectaries on the leaves, a medium boll opening period, long fiber, and the position of the stigma above the level of the anthers.
During its introduction, the variety demonstrated high yields, earliness, and suitability for mechanical harvesting. It possesses resistance to the Fusarium-nematode complex and moderate tolerance to Verticillium wilt. The variety served as a foundation for subsequent breeding work.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
