The plant is a hybrid cultivar known in the retail network under the trade name Guzmania Hope. Its distinguishing feature is its inflorescences with bright red bracts that have characteristic white tips.
This variety is used as an ornamental potted crop. The plant is thermophilic and in temperate climate conditions requires maintenance at a temperature no lower than 15°C. The variety has gained recognition for its long flowering period.
