The plant forms a rosette of smooth lanceolate leaves, reaching a height of 30–55 cm with a diameter of up to 75 cm. The peduncle is represented by a complex spike-type inflorescence with bright yellow or yellow-orange bracts, often having green tips.
The variety blooms once in its lifetime, maintaining the decorative effect of the inflorescence for up to 6 months. The plant is thermophilic, prefers bright diffused light and moderate humidity. It propagates vegetatively by forming "offsets" after the flowering period ends.
