The CMS 234 line, also known as CMS 234 A and CMS 234 B, is not a commercial variety but is a specialized parental component. It carries PET 1 cytoplasm (Helianthus petiolaris), which is used as a standard for creating male sterile lines.
This line is characterized by good combining ability for seed yield and oil content. It is used in heterosis breeding programs, drought tolerance research, and for the identification of fertility restorer lines.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
