The variety belongs to the oilseed direction, however, during the 1970s research it was tested as a crop for green mass production, showing a higher crude protein content compared to some corn varieties. It was used in work with genetic male sterility.
The plant possesses resistance to downy mildew and tolerance to head and stem sclerotinia. In comparative field trials of that period, grain yield indicators corresponded to the level of the Peredovik variety or exceeded it.
