The Rút variety was obtained by positive selection from introduced clones. The plant belongs to the transitional bush type with a stem height from 260 to 320 cm, forms light green long leaves, and flowers in late autumn.
Tubers have red skin and a moderately elongated, ovoid shape with smooth outlines. The variety is universal, suitable for food, fodder, and energy purposes.
Tuber yield is about 38 t/ha, above-ground mass is about 41 t/ha of fresh mass. The plant tolerates drought well, and tubers are capable of overwintering in the soil at temperatures down to -30 °C.
