Variety description

Perennial evergreen plant with a compact dense rosette, reaching 20–30 cm in height, and 40–60 cm including flower stalks. Leaves are rounded, with a heart-shaped base and serrated, slightly wavy margins; they have a dark purple, almost black color with a velvety or glossy texture.

Flowers are small, pinkish-cream or pink, gathered in airy paniculate inflorescences. The variety is distinguished by a long flowering period from the beginning of summer until frosts. It possesses winter hardiness down to -30°C and moderate drought tolerance.

The plant is versatile regarding lighting, developing both in sun and shade. It prefers well-drained, moderately moist soils without water stagnation. It is used in landscape design, borders, mixed borders, rock gardens, and container gardening.
