The variety belongs to the group of large-flowered hippeastrums. The flowers are simple, have a diameter of 15 to 20 cm, and are colored in dark red with a cherry or burgundy shade, including the throat. The flowers have no fragrance.
The scape height is 40–60 cm. Depending on the size of the bulb, the plant is capable of forming 2–3 scapes. The leaves are lorate, dark green, 3–4 cm wide.
When grown in pots, flowering occurs 6–7 weeks after planting. The variety requires standard maintenance conditions, including good drainage and the provision of a dormancy period.
