ActiveHippophae rhamnoides L. · Sea buckthorn
Emmanuel Cabanes
10 August 2026
The variety was obtained as a result of selective breeding of Finnish natural populations. The plant is female (pistillate) and intended for cultivation in northern latitudes.
The main feature of the variety is high resistance to stem cancer (Stigmina sp.). For pollination, it is recommended to use the male variety of Finnish breeding «Tarmo».
Studies of the biochemical composition of the berries confirmed the presence of flavonoids, such as quercetin and isorhamnetin glycosides, the concentration of which depends on the geographical latitude of cultivation.
