The spring barley variety Aluona DS was bred by the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry. It is included in the testing program for value for cultivation and use, during which numerical indicators of plant development are recorded.
At present, detailed agronomic characteristics of the variety, including data on maturity, resistance to diseases, lodging, as well as the intended use of the grain, are absent from open publications.
