The variety was obtained as a result of breeding work based on the mutant variety Diamant. It is characterized as short-stemmed, which ensures its high lodging resistance.
In scientific publications of the 1970s–80s, the variety was noted for the presence of the Ml-a6 resistance gene to powdery mildew. It was traditionally used in breeding programs as source material for developing new varieties.
