The spring barley variety Arild is adapted for cultivation in the conditions of Northern Europe and the Baltic countries. It belongs to the group of early-maturing varieties and often serves as a standard for earliness in breeding programs.

The main purpose of the variety is feed production. From an agronomic point of view, the variety is characterized by high yield and good straw strength, which ensures resistance to lodging. The variety is also known in the scientific community as a specimen with a high grain viscosity index.
