The barley variety Berras is mentioned in the descriptive lists of varieties of the Federal Plant Variety Office of Germany for the period 2007–2009. In official documents, the variety appeared within the framework of trials for the assessment of agronomic traits.

During the variety research, its susceptibility to diseases was evaluated. For Berras, a susceptibility coefficient to barley leaf stripe of 2.9 was recorded. Detailed morphological characteristics and complete grain quality indicators are presented in open access in the form of codes.
