Caminant is a specialized malting barley variety. Its genetic basis is the ant28.484 mutant. A specific feature of this variety's grain is the absence of proanthocyanidins, which contributes to ensuring the colloidal stability of beer without the use of additional technical agents.
In experimental field trials, the variety demonstrated a yield exceeding standard indicators by 4%. Due to its specific biochemical composition, namely the reduced level of polyphenols and the catechin fraction, an effect on the flavor stability of beer was noted in comparison with control samples.
