Cyprus Black is a local Cypriot six-row barley variety. In the mid-20th century, it was actively used in local variety trials and breeding programs; in particular, it served as one of the source components in the development of the Sel B55-22 variety.
Traditionally, the grain of this barley was used primarily for livestock feed, as well as in baking. In reports from the 1930s, the productivity of the variety was assessed as comparable to the types of barley imported at that time. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant are absent in available publications.
