The variety is a result of the cross France Dea × Sonja. The plant is characterized by a medium-short height and a sufficiently strong straw, providing resistance to lodging. Winter hardiness of the variety is rated as relatively good.
The grain of the variety is very large, well-filled, with a high test weight. At the same time, crop structure indicators, such as spike weight, number of grains per spike, and thousand kernel weight, are lower than those of a number of other varieties. The variety exhibits medium resistance to rust and weak to medium susceptibility to leaf spots.
Maturity dates for the variety are characterized inconsistently in various studies: in a number of trials it matured earlier than the variety Marinka, while in others it is indicated as late-heading.
