Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a type of hulless winter barley, the main purpose of which is the production of health food products, including baking flour, pearl barley, and flakes. The grain of the variety is characterized by a significant content of soluble dietary fiber — β-glucans.

In scientific literature, Hiberna is used as a genetic standard. The variety is a carrier of the rym10 gene, which provides resistance to barley yellow mosaic virus (BaYMV) and barley mild mosaic virus (BaMMV). The yield potential of the variety is significantly lower than that of conventional feed barley varieties.
