The variety belongs to spring barley forms and was bred in West Germany by the breeding company Heges. In the 1970s, it was included in international genetic resource databases as an imported accession.
In specialized breeding literature of the mid-20th century, the variety was mentioned in the context of research on barley resistance to powdery mildew. More detailed agronomic characteristics of the plant are absent from modern archives due to the obsolescence of the variety.
