The variety belongs to the Hyvido hybrid barley line, the technology of which is based on the use of a CMS system derived from wild barley. The crop is intended for grain production for feed, silage, or biogas.
The Jallon hybrid shows a productivity advantage over conventional varieties in terms of grain and biomass yield. The plant possesses resistance to lodging and a complex of diseases, including rhynchosporium, net blotch, and powdery mildew, and is also tolerant to barley yellow dwarf virus.
The effective yield of the variety is achieved at reduced seeding rates, ranging from 200 to 350 seeds per square meter.
