The variety belongs to the two-row barley type and is early-maturing. During research, it was determined that the grain of this variety contains a relatively low level of protein with a high level of starch. The average thousand kernel weight is approximately 33 g.
The variety is of Swedish origin and is used in scientific field trials, particularly in northern regions. Kannas is a traditional variety included in official European agricultural plant registers and does not belong to the group of transgenic varieties.
