The variety is a two-row barley that was historically intended for malting purposes. The variety was obtained through breeding work by crossing the varieties Proctor and HP 5466.
The plant possesses moderate resistance to powdery mildew. At present, the variety is an archival genetic resource object and is not listed in registers as a current commercial variety for modern industrial cultivation.
