The variety is the result of breeding work at the institute in Kompolt. Its genetic base combines the traits of the high-yielding but less winter-hardy Sladoran variety and the six-row Kompolt 4 variety, which is resistant to extreme winter conditions.

This barley is classified as a two-row winter type and is considered breeding material, including for the development of malting varieties. The variety was also used as a parental form for breeding new hybrids with improved yield and stem strength performance.
