The variety belongs to spring cereal crops. Genetically, it was obtained as a result of crossing lines STN8142 and STN7542.

The plant is a two-row hulled barley. The variety demonstrated high yield in studies from 2007–2008 and is considered stable under growing conditions in Latvia.

The grain shows a relatively high starch content with a reduced level of crude protein.
