The Sion spring common barley variety is characterized by high yield, exceeding standard indicators under conditions of increased soil acidity. The average yield of the variety during trials was 5.02 t/ha.

The plant possesses complex resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought conditions. The variety also shows resistance to infection by brown rust, powdery mildew, and helminthosporiosis, and is recommended for cultivation in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe zones, and Polissya.
