Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a winter two-row crop, bred as a breeding line from a composite population under the identifier RPB 5026-76. Due to its genetic characteristics, the variety was used as a parent form for breeding a number of other barley varieties.

It was characterized by rather weak straw, requiring the use of growth regulators, and moderate yield potential, inferior to feed varieties of that time. The grain possessed basic malting qualities, however, due to their limitations, the variety was not popular among brewing companies and had niche application.
