The variety has a complex genealogy, including the parental forms Jo0777, Anita, Otra, Bamse, Vigdis, Agneta, Bode, Sold, Clermont, Lise, and Arve. Based on morphological characteristics, it belongs to the six-row barleys with awned spikes and is classified as a hulled grain.
The variety was a subject of studies on resistance to leaf spot caused by Ramularia collo-cygni. The specific use of the variety in Norway covers feed production, as well as the study of amino acid composition and barley quality for malting purposes.
