Titouan barley belongs to spring varieties and is used primarily for the needs of grain distillate production. In breeding research, the variety is known as a parental form in the development of other cereal crop lines.
The plant has an early maturity period and high resistance to lodging due to a strong straw. The variety exhibits pronounced resistance to powdery mildew and scald, however, its susceptibility to leaf rust is noted.
