Variety description

10 August 2026

The spring barley variety Wicket was bred by Syngenta Seeds Ltd. In breeding work, the variety was used as one of the parental components, in particular in the cross Wicket x Braemer.

The variety was previously included in official recommended variety lists in the UK and Ireland, but was excluded from them in subsequent years. In current publicly available reports, detailed morphological characteristics and grain quality indicators are not provided due to its obsolescence.

The name Wicket in modern Syngenta catalogs is assigned to a herbicide for protecting cereal crops, which requires distinguishing these concepts when searching for information.
