The hybrid was obtained by crossing a cultivated tomato with the wild species Solanum habrochaites. Its primary function is the development of a vigorous root system to improve growth, increase productivity, and provide resistance to soil-borne pathogens in grafted plants.

The plant is not intended for fruit production; its target characteristics indicate that it may not bear fruit at all or may form only small fruits. The hybrid possesses genetically determined resistance to nematodes of the genus Meloidogyne, Fusarium, and Verticillium.
