Variety description

10 August 2026

The Buffon rootstock is intended for use as a root system in the cultivation of greenhouse tomatoes. Its primary role is to increase the vigor and resistance of grafted plants to unfavorable environmental conditions, including thermal stress, moisture deficit, and nutrient deficiency.

The use of this rootstock helps protect plants against soil-borne pathogens and reduces the attractiveness of leaves to certain pests, such as the whitefly Bemisia tabaci. Buffon maintains the fruit quality of the scion at professional standards, while it may have a minor effect on skin firmness and the chemical composition of the fruits.
