The rootstock is vigorous and is designed to increase the vigor of grafted plants, improve their nutrition, and increase the size and uniformity of the scion fruits by 10–20%.

The hybrid has high resistance to a wide range of soil-borne pathogens, including Fusarium wilt race 3, Verticillium wilt, and nematodes.
