Patronax is not a tomato variety for fruit production and is used exclusively as a rootstock in protected cultivation both on substrates and in soil. The plant has medium vigor.

The rootstock has high resistance to Tomato mosaic virus, Verticillium wilt, Fusarium wilt and Fusarium crown and root rot, as well as leaf mold. Moderate resistance is noted to nematodes, corky root rot, and Tomato spotted wilt virus.
