The accession was obtained by crossing Vaccinium corymbosum and Vaccinium darrowii, aimed at producing plants with low chilling requirements and adaptation to warm conditions. In breeding literature, it is regarded as research material rather than a widely distributed commercial variety.

The plant is characterized as early-maturing, with relatively small fruit. The bush is potentially suitable for cultivation on poor or problematic soils. Difficulties with bush shape are noted, which may complicate mechanical harvesting.
