Variety description

The variety is an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing the Grenache variety (Vitis vinifera) with a representative of Muscadinia rotundifolia. It is a wine grape variety that forms medium-sized clusters with a dense or moderately dense structure and medium-sized berries with thick skins.

The plant has low to moderate vigor, with semi-erect or horizontal shoot positioning. The variety belongs to the late maturity group and is characterized by high fertility.

Wines from this variety are characterized by intense color, astringency, and aromas of black fruits and spices. The variety shows resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, but is sensitive to black rot, grey mold, and grape erineum mite. During cultivation, a need for magnesium and incompatibility with 140 Ru rootstock are noted.
