The 'Green Tonic' variety is a plant whose inflorescences have green speckles, and the flower color varies from white to lilac-blue. After 10 years, the shrub reaches a height of about 150 cm. A distinctive feature is the bright red and orange autumn foliage color, which is rare for this species. The flowering period occurs from July to September.

The 'Grin and Tonic' (Hokomagrito) variety is a compact shrub 60–90 cm tall with dark green glossy foliage. The inflorescences are spherical, having a lime-green hue when opening, which turns into pure white. The plant is reblooming, flowers on current-season and last-year shoots, and is suitable for container cultivation and borders. Winter hardiness corresponds to zones 5–9.
