Variety description

The shrub is characterized by a dense, rounded crown shape and has large, elliptic, dark green leaves with serrated margins. Flowering begins in early June; the flowers have a soft pink hue, the intensity of which depends on soil acidity and aluminum content.

The plant prefers partial shade and requires protection from direct sunlight to prevent scorching. In cold climates, it requires winter covering as it belongs to climate zone 6. Branches may require support due to the weight of the inflorescences; chlorosis is occasionally possible.
