The shrub is characterized by a compact and dense habit. Plant height in open field reaches 1.0–1.5 m; in containers, growth is limited to 0.5–0.75 m. The leaves are large, dense, glossy, and oval-shaped with serrated edges. Young foliage has a burgundy or reddish shade, gradually turning into dark green with a purple or almost black tint and light veins.
Inflorescences are spherical, 10–15 cm in diameter; flowers change color from greenish-pink to deep red. Flowering is prolonged, from June to September, primarily on the previous year's shoots. The variety prefers partial shade and acidic, well-drained soils; it is sensitive to drought and direct sunlight. Winter hardiness is up to -23...-24°C; in cold regions, it requires covering.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
