Ticino is a deciduous shrub characterized as dwarf, reaching a height of about 90–120 cm. The plant has a vigorous growth habit and is well-suited for container cultivation.

Flowering of the variety occurs in summer. The color of the inflorescences is variable and depends on the acidity level of the substrate, ranging in pink, blue, and purple tones.
