Variety description

Shrub with upright dense shoots, reaching a height of 1.0–1.5 m and a width of 1.0–1.5 m. Leaves are ovate, dark green, with a serrated margin. The variety is a sport of Hydrangea macrophylla f. normalis and is used for solitary plantings, group plantings, and container cultivation.

Lacecap-type inflorescences consist of small fertile inner flowers and large sterile marginal flowers. Flowering lasts from June to September. The variety is relatively winter-hardy, corresponds to USDA zone 6a, and is sensitive to late spring frosts and soil composition, which influences the petal shade.
