The plant is a deciduous shrub, valued for its decorative rounded-oblate fruits with a diameter of 1–1.5 cm. The berries range in color from golden-yellow to orange with a slight blush and persist on the branches for a long time after leaf fall.
The variety is dioecious, therefore, a male pollinator plant blooming during the same period is required for fruiting. The shrub prefers well-lit areas or partial shade and is tolerant to moist and waterlogged soils.
The plant's branches are in demand in floristry for creating festive arrangements, and the fruits serve as a food source for birds. The crop is characterized by low maintenance and high resistance to diseases and pests.
