The variety is a compact dwarf shrub about 90 cm tall and 90–120 cm wide. The plant is deciduous and blooms with white flowers in the spring. The fruits are orange-red or orange in color and are characterized by long-lasting ornamental value in the autumn-winter period.

The plant possesses high adaptability to various soil types, prefers full sun or partial shade, and tolerates moist areas well. The frost resistance zone is 4–9. To ensure abundant fruiting, a male pollinator plant must be present nearby.
