Variety description

The deciduous shrub reaches a height and width of 0.9–1.2 meters. It has a compact, rounded, and dense crown shape that does not require frequent pruning. The flowering period occurs in late spring and early summer, when the plant is covered with small white flowers collected in fragrant drooping racemes.
The leaves are light green during the growing season and acquire a saturated red-maroon or wine-red shade in autumn. The variety is winter hardy for USDA zones 5–9 and is resistant to deer damage and most diseases.
The plant prefers moist, fertile, well-drained soils. It tolerates planting in both sun and partial shade well, although the most vivid flowering and autumn leaf color are achieved with a sufficient level of lighting. It is capable of withstanding temporary waterlogging.
