The Konkursnyi variety is an object of breeding use and is considered a promising parent form for developing new varieties possessing increased drought tolerance.

The plant is classified as having above-average drought tolerance. In studies of winter hardiness during the winter dormancy period and the onset of the growing season, the variety belongs to the medium-winter-hardy group, with the survival rate of generative and vegetative organs being 40–60%.
