ActiveJuglans regia L. · Persian walnut
Stat Exp Davis (US)
10 August 2026
The specimen received its name from the location of its discovery — the settlement of Øsby in Denmark. The form was studied as part of genetic resource monitoring by the country's research institutes.
The fruits of this specimen have a very light, smooth shell, elliptical in shape with a pronounced sharp tip. The valves close well, and the nut itself is easy to crack, which allows the kernel to be extracted whole. The kernel is medium-sized and dark in color.
