The Sava variety belongs to the late bud burst category, with the vegetation period starting two days before the Franquette variety. Fruits are characterized by medium size, smooth shell, and high-quality light-colored kernel.

The fruiting type is intermediate, providing a balance between yield and vegetative growth. Due to the protandrous flowering type, additional varieties such as Meylannaise, Ronde de Montignac, or Elit are required for pollination.

The variety has low susceptibility to walnut bacteriosis and codling moth, making it suitable for establishing commercial orchards in continental climate conditions.
